From the initial idea, to a final product; watching a dream come to life.
Early on we knew a paddle that already existed would not do DotBall360° justice. there are unique aspects to this sport that required a longer reach for better balance of offense and defense. We also were using a specific ball that had a little more weight so the strain on the paddle would be increased. We briefly consider a racket but the explosive nature of strings made it impossible to contain the game in a realistic space. We explored several different designs that varied in length, weight, material, and shape.
"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." -Michael Jordan
DotBall360° ended up finding a sweet spot in the current paddle/racket market that fit all of our needs. From there, we just needed to figure out material and weight. This proved to be a difficult balance between light weight and strength. The solution came when talking with our table manufacturer, that mentioned the paddle could be blow molded with a similar technique to the table. This proved not only to be convenient but an ideal material.
Hope you guys enjoy the journey. We appreciate all the amazing support from our community and look forward to keeping you updated on the next piece of the DotBall360° puzzle.
